LeadsByCity

Comparison

LeadsByCity and Apollo compared.

Apollo and LeadsByCity answer different questions. Apollo answers who to talk to at a company: named people, with their job titles, and the tools to email them in sequence. LeadsByCity answers which businesses exist in a place: every dentist in Leeds or every roofer in Austin, with the phone number, website and email address each one publishes.

What Apollo is

Apollo is a sales platform built on a database of business contacts. Its site gives the size as 240 million contacts and 30 million companies. A contact is a named person at a company, and the product is organised around finding the right people and reaching them: its plans include a platform for sending email in sequences.

Its site lists a free plan with no time limit and paid plans priced for each user. Plans differ in the credits and features they include, and the current figures are on its pricing page.

When Apollo is the better choice

  • You sell to companies with departments, and need the right person: the head of marketing, the IT manager.
  • You want the database and the sending tool in one place.
  • Your team prospects every day and a plan for each user makes sense.

When LeadsByCity is the better choice

  • Your customers are local businesses, where the owner answers the phone and there is no org chart to search.
  • You need every business of a kind in an area, including the ones with no staff profiles anywhere.
  • You want to pay for one list, not for a seat.
  • You only handle business-level data and do not want named individuals in your files.

Where these facts come from

What this page says about Apollo was read on its own website on the date at the top of the page, and is given as that site states it. Questions and answers

Is LeadsByCity an Apollo alternative?
Only for one job: getting local businesses by niche and place. Apollo is a database of named people at companies with sending tools built in. If you need decision-makers at mid-sized and large companies, Apollo is the right kind of product and LeadsByCity is not.
Does LeadsByCity have contact names and job titles?
No. A row is a business: its name, address, website, category, the email address it publishes and, in the file with phone numbers, its phone number. There are no named people in a list.
Why would I use a local business list instead of a contact database?
Because a small local business is reached through the business itself, not through a named employee. A roofing company or a hair salon is contacted through its main phone number, its website and its published email address, and a list by niche and place holds those for every such business in the area.
How current is the information about Apollo on this page?
It was read on Apollo's own website on the date shown at the top of the page. Plans and figures change, so check its pricing page before you decide.
